So often I hear people say they don't want to get engaged or get married on Valentine's Day. My response is always, WHY? Valentine's Day is the most recognized day of the year to celebrate the one person you love and the love you have for each other! This Valentine's Day was a little different for me. I was able to capture an adorable couple that had been together for 10 years, and had decided to make it official on, of course, Valentine's Day. They were the sweetest couple! The one thing I loved about this couple is how relaxed they were. They wanted a quick ceremony on the beach, and then some pictures of them around the resort. They were celebrating each other WITH each other on the most romantic day of the year. It had been cold and dreary that morning and into the early part of the afternoon, but around 1:30 it cleared up, the sun was beautiful and the beach was a perfect spot for a wedding. It was an intimate wedding with the couple, myself, and the officiant. Afterwards, we grabbed a couple of pictures on the beach and then headed up to the resort. Usually when I tell a couple to pretend I'm not there while I snap pictures, they immediately laugh and say, "Really??? Ummmm….ok." Because, let's be honest, when a photographer that you've never met is standing there taking pictures of you in such a vulnerable moment, you can't just pretend I'm not there, and did I mention they don't know me. But, this couple did exactly that. It was like they were the only two people on earth, and you could feel the love between them. This was my first wedding of 2020, and, honestly, I could not have picked a better day or a better couple to kick off this wedding year! Congratulations to Kristen and Scott! We are wishing nothing but love and a lifetime of happiness! Cheers!
