Tips on the Best Guest Books

Here are some quick creative ideas on guest books!  The guest book is an important piece of your wedding day. It will hold some of the names and well wishes from your closest friends and family. Here are some of our favorites!

  1. Polaroid Guest Book: Provide a Polaroid camera and ask guests to take a picture of themselves. They can then write a message on the photo and place it in the guest book.

  2. Thumbprint Tree: Create a tree outline on a canvas or poster. Guests can dip their thumbs in ink or paint and add their thumbprints as leaves. They can then sign or write messages near their prints.

  3. Message in a Bottle: Have guests write their messages on small pieces of paper and place them in a decorative bottle. The couple can read these messages on their anniversaries.

  4. Travel Map: If the couple loves to travel, use a map as a guest book. Guests can sign near a location that has significance for the couple or offer travel advice.

  5. Jenga Blocks: Provide a Jenga set and ask guests to sign or write messages on the wooden blocks. The couple can enjoy reading the messages each time they play the game.

  6. Telephone Guest Book. One of the newest "guest book" ideas I have seen and absolutely loved, is a retro phone (and you can get them in any color) that records voice messages from your guests.  It is the cutest way to record your friends well wishes, and you can listen to them anytime you'd like! You can also have the messages recorded on a record and play them back anytime you want.

  7. Record Signing. This idea is fun if you have a retro spin on your wedding! Guests sign your favorite vinyl record. It's a plus if it's the record with your wedding song.

  8. A custom painting: I had a couple that had a custom painting done of their venue on a canvas and had guests sign it.  It was a beautiful watercolor painting that they can hang on their walls for a lifetime to remind them of their closest friends and family with all of their well wishes.

  9. Vintage Typewriter: Set up a vintage typewriter and encourage guests to type their messages. It adds a touch of nostalgia to the guest book.

  10. Jigsaw Puzzle: Have guests sign or write messages on individual puzzle pieces. The couple can then put the puzzle together on their own time.

  11. Date Night Ideas: Ask guests to suggest date night ideas for the couple. It can be a fun way to get creative suggestions.

  12. Art Canvas: Provide a blank canvas and art supplies. Guests can create small artworks or doodles along with their messages.

Find a guest book that will reflect your personality as a couple. It's a wonderful way to capture memories and well-wishes from the wedding day. What ideas do you have? I'd love to hear them! Happy Planning!

XOXO,

Lauren
